Anchorguard STARBOARD for BR1 Bow Roller

(2 customer reviews)

SKU: AMSTRBD Category:

Anchor Guard guarantees your anchor a snug fit on your bow.

Anchors frequently do not fit well on the bow rollers and boat owners resort to either switching to a sub optimal anchor design in order to ensure a better fit or invest heavily in expensive custom solutions to better secure their anchor on the bow. Anchor Guard was designed to mate an existing bow roller with an anchor of any design. Simple install uses the same bolt that articulates your roller, and converts an existing bow roller into a custom bow roller for any anchor. The design incorporates: Sturdy 316L Stainless Steel Precision Casting, Polyurethane V- guard, and all 316L Fasteners.

Mounts to the bow roller on the STARBOARD side of the boat, for Boats < 35 feet

I would not say perfect, but it is excellent. Trying to configure anchor arrangements for our 40′ sailboat has been trying at best. I’ve tried different anchors and different factory made bow rollers all to no avail. I needed something to work with our factory bow pulpit. The Anchor Guard fit the bill and I only had to make up 1 – 1/2″ od x 3/8″ id bushing. The anchor now snugs between the bow roller and the Mantus v in the anchor Mate. There is no movement in any direction and I’m only using a small chain tentioner. Thank you Mantus guys! I have pictures but can’t seem to load.

The width of our new generation Mantus anchor caused an increase in wobbling while on the bow-roller, when not secured under the tension of the windlass. Since we normally snub the anchor to the bow pulpit to take the strain off of the windlass, we needed a solution.

I ordered the AnchorMate and it arrived quickly and was much heavier than I though it would be. On our particular bow-roller, there was already a hole drilled just behind the roller pin, and I was able to install the Mate there without having to remove the pin. Installed in 5 minutes while raining, before setting sail. Now extremely stable while snubbed under hand tension.
