A bridle absorbs the shock loads that waves and gusts transmit through your anchor chain, taking the strain off your windlass and cleats and quieting the boat at anchor. Without one, those loads hit the chain — and your hardware — directly.
Choose by boat length: the Small bridle (5/8″ rope) fits boats 30–40 feet, the Medium (3/4″ rope) fits 40–50 feet, and the Large (1″ rope) fits 50–70 feet. Each steps up in rope strength — from 12,200 lbs ultimate breaking strength for the Small to 29,400 lbs for the Large. For smaller boats, see the Mantus Single Leg Snubber.
The Small is 23 feet overall with 20-foot legs; the Medium is 26 feet with 22-foot legs; the Large is 30 feet with 26-foot legs.
With a Mantus chain hook sized to fit your chain — from CH1 (1/4″–5/16″ chain) up to CH4 (1/2″–5/8″). For mooring balls, use the Mantus Mooring Snap Shackle instead of the chain hook.
The Catamaran Mooring Bridle includes two extra forged Duplex 2205 stainless shackles for attaching the bridle legs to bow eye-bolts.
