Construction:
Two Layer Wall
Layer 1: HDPE Material (The HDPE hull easily absorbs shocks and collisions with sharp objects)
Layer 2: PE Foam
Flotation:
Inflatable and Rigid Inflatable boats are excluded from Coast Guard safety requirements for small boats (boats < 20 feet). Small boats with motors < 20 HP have to pass a flotation/stability testing. In this test all air chambers are punctured and flooded, the boat should still float fully loaded with gear and a motor. Inflatables are excluded from this testing requirement.
Max Capacity:
US Coast Guard has strict rules that define Maximum Weight Capacity for a small boat < 20 feet. Inflatables and Rigid Inflatables are excluded from these rules and Maximum Capacity Labels on these boats are arbitrary manufacturer recommendations. Mantus Dinghy underwent rigorous testing to determine maximum capacity.
