What does an anchor bridle do?

An anchor bridle (or single-leg snubber) is a stretchy nylon connection between your anchor chain and the boat. It absorbs shock loads from waves and gusts, takes the load off your windlass, and quiets the boat at anchor. When anchoring, a chain hook connects the bridle to the chain; when mooring, our mooring snap shackle attaches the bridle to the mooring ball. See the Mantus Bridle.
